ABOUT THE 12TH DECEMBER, 2024 NDI-IGBO ELECTION

Fifteen years after the establishment of Igbo Association in Computer Village,Ikeja ,Lagos State,Ndi-Igbo has conducted a historic election for the first time.

The Election Commission of the umbrella Igbo body constituted by the outgone interim committee led by Mr. Ifeanyi Akubue was headed by Chief Uchenna Ekejuba which conducted the election on Thursday 12th December,2024 to fill the posts of President,Vice President, General Secretary and 11 other executive positions of Nddigbo in Computer Village.

The Election result which was announced at 5pm same day,saw Chief Chinedu Mbakwe emerging as the President,pulling 465 votes to defeat his opponent Mr.Alloy who scored 12 votes

Also victorious in the election were Mr. Austin C. Agbakor,Vice President, Comrade Mike Orji,General Secretary,Mr.Dozie Emmanuel ,Assistant Secretary and Mr. Chijioke Obidike,Public Relations Officer.

Others are Mr. Odijili,Assistant Public Relations Officer,Mr. Obiagbara Anthony ,Financial Secretary,Mr. Nwaochei Ezekiel,Assistant Financial Secretary,Mr. Duru Meshack,Treasurer,Mr. Ifeanyi Anamwa ,Chief Welfare,Mr.Iyke Samuel,,Chief Whip,Mr. Ukaigwe Victor, Chief Provost.

The Election was described by many as free,fair and credible,though some claimed that the office of Vice President and Chief Welfare were keenly contested more than the others on account of allegedly interest by major stakeholders in the market.

The Chairman of Ndi-Igbo in Computer Village Electoral Commission,Chief Uchenna Ekejuba,while declaring the results expressed joy that after over thirteen years without elected leaders,they have written their names and that of Ndi-Igbo in the annals of history.

He thanked Ndi-Igbo in Computer Village,the Elders Council and the former interim committee members for giving the Electoral Committee the needed assistance and cooperation urged the winners to be magnanimous in victory by closing ranks with all the Igbos to move Ndi-Igbo in Computer village forward.

Chairman of the Elders Council ,Chief Virginius Odinaka and the former interim committee Chairman,Mr. Ifeanyi Akubue expressed satisfaction with the Electoral Committee in giving Ndi-Igbo a credible,free and fair election for the first time in the history of the Igbos in Computer Village.

Chief Odinaka commended Ndi-Igbo in Computer Village for their peaceful conduct during the elections regardless of odds and attempts by some people to stop the election .He expressed the Elders Council willingness to cooperate with the newly elected leaders to help them succeed.

Ndi-Igbo in Computer Village President -elect ,Chief Chinedu Mbakwe extended his hands of fellowship to all and urged everyone to close rank to build a united Ndi-Igbo in Computer Village that will be enviable to all .

With the coming of the new executive body,it is expected that Ndi-Igbo in Computer Village would unite Ndigbo and boost collective prosperity for Ndigbo,Lagos State and by extension Nigeria.
